Living Willow Arbour
In February 2010 we got together with a few members of the Lampeter Permaculture Group in Linda Winn’s garden to build a living willow arbour. It was a perfect spot for it: right next to the river so plenty of water; south facing so plenty of sun; tucked down amongst the trees so plenty of shelter; and near enough to the house to get plenty of attention (the best compost is a gardener’s shadow)! As you can see from the photos from the first summer it’s really thriving there and Linda could build a new structure just from her first year’s growth – you’d usually have to wait at least a couple of years.
